Alice's Story

Alice I. Lammons Sabb, age 101, of Mancelona, passed away on Aug. 14, 2017 at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center. Alice was born on July 23, 1916 in Mancelona to the late Casper and Margaret (Elliott) Fleet.
She grew up in Mancelona and worked at Precision as a tool grinder for 30 years.
Alice enjoyed square dancing and golf. She was extremely proud of the hole in one she made in 1990.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Ann (Bruce) Brown, of North Bend, Oregon; grandchildren, David Pontz, of Alaska, Katherine Brown, of Oregon, and Bruce Brown, of Oregon; niece, Alice Medley, of Mancelona; along with many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by husbands, John Pontz, Ernest Sabb, Louis Parent and Paul Lammons; son, David Pontz; grandson, Marlin Pontz; and many siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017 at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017 also at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be directed to a charity of one's choice.
