Ann P. Grubb, 75, of Roscoe, Illinois, and Traverse City, passed peacefully Tuesday, March 14, 2017 in her home surrounded by her loving family and dogs. She was born April 11, 1941 in Saginaw, the daughter of Raymond P. and Josephine (LaChonce) Paynter.
Ann was a graduate and devoted alumni of the University of Michigan, where she received her bachelor's degree.
She married Gardner Grubb on June 30, 1962 in St. Francis Church, Traverse City, and they have been in love for more than 55 years.
Ann was the "rock of the family" whose passion was to counsel and guide her family. Among Ann's many passions were cooking, playing bridge and watching sports. She also loved showing her champion Samoyeds and traveling the world with her beloved husband. Ann was an avid University of Michigan Wolverines fan. She was arguably their number one fan.
Ann was full of life and a woman who had a clever and creative sense of humor. She was the perfect wife and mother. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Ann's loved ones who survive her include her husband, Gardner; her children, Gina (Greg) Wall and Derrick (Debbie) Grubb; her grandchildren, Brian Cox, Gabrielle (Ryan) Johnson, Breanna Grubb, Jordan Grubb, Danielle Grubb and Nicholas Wall; great-grandchild, Emma Johnson; and her dogs, Reggie and Rusty.
She was predeceased by her parents and brother, William Paynter.
The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial for Ann will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 2222 Shopiere Road, Beloit, Wisconsin, with Fr. Michael Resop officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2017 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, Wisconsin. Visitation will also be from 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday in the church. An additional memorial service for Ann will be held later this summer in Traverse City.
