Christopher A. Kleehammer, age 48, of Traverse City, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017. Chris was born on June 2, 1969 in Detroit to Willard and Caroline (Galster) Kleehammer.
He was raised in the Detroit area and attended and graduated in 1987 from L'Anse Cruese High School in Macomb.
Chris loved spending time outdoors riding around Northern Michigan. He especially loved working on cars, not only for himself but others as well, and had built himself a specialty hot rod.
He will be remembered as having loved not only his children, but all children, was always willing to lend a hand and also loved dogs.
Chris was extremely proud of his sons who survive, Michael and Zachary. He is also survived by his siblings, Edward (Lisa), Jeffrey, Willard (Angela), Dawn and Duane Kleehammer; and 11 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, at 11 a.m., at the Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City. Visitation will be on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Tuesday beginning at 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lodi Cemetery.
