Clarence E. Davis, 85, of Honor, died Oct. 20, 2017. Born Jan. 9, 1932, he was the son of Joe and Bertha (Blohm) Davis.
Clarence was an active member of his community, While teaching in the public schools he was awarded Teacher of the Year in 1986. He was also a 4-H leader, a member of the Empire Lions Club since 1955 and a member of Benzie Farm Bureau. He also he represented the Soil Conservation District. In 1973 at Benzie Central High School, Clarence began a program in the Building Trades.
Clarence also enjoyed his many camping and RV adventures with his family since the early 1950s.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Carolyn; children, Maurice Davis, of Beulah, Matthew Davis, of Honor, and Marcia (Richard) Adams, of Honor; grandchildren, Logan Davis, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and Colton (Courtney) Davis, of Lansing; and brothers, Carl and Stanley (Linda) Davis.
He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy in 1976.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at the Jowett Family Funeral Homes in Benzonia. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Platte Township Cemetery.
