I am so sorry to learn of Debi’s passing.... I only met her a few times at our gallery in Ann Arbor but remember her fondly for her wonderful smile and gracious ways and of course, her beautiful paintings. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

Debra was so special as a person and as an artist. Always so encouraging to others and so generous to all with her time and her talent. She will be missed!

Deb was always a smiling joy to wait on and visit with. She was a regular for iced tea, even in winter & especially enjoyed anything called cake. Julia, Gary and other family, our thoughts are with you.

One of my best memories of Debbie is when she saved the life of one of our horses. My daughter Tracey and her beautiful daughter Julia kept our horses at the same barn on Old Mission. Our horse Delmer decided to kick his back legs against his stall door before a show and got one stuck in the bars. Debbie, who was there at the time, bravely removed his leg from the bars without injury to him or herself. RIP fellow "show mom".

We will miss our downtown friend and neighbor Debra Sanborn very much. We are so sorry for the loss of a great lady. Debbie was not only a talented artist, but also very kind, thoughtful and funny. Our deepest sympathies go out to her family and friends.

Debbie was the go between before my husband and I started dating. She participated in our wedding reception. We have 2 pictures of her in our wedding album. We saw her a couple of times when we moved back to Michigan to live in 2016. We were able to purchase a beautiful painting. We will miss her. What a special person!

I grew up with Debbie through years of sports while at Flushing High School. I had no idea she had such artistic talents! I remember Debbie as a kind, warm spirit, always so positive about life! She was that person you just wanted to be around. Rest in peace Debbie.

One day early on in my relationship with Todd (Debi's son), I told her "for some reason I always call you Debs when I'm talking about you." She said, "Debs? I think I should have a nickname like Cricket!" From that point on Todd and I called her Cricket and it's only now after years of knowing her that I see how much more fitting that unconventional nickname was! I feel blessed beyond measure to have packed so much love and so many memories into the last 5 years. Love and prayers to all who were lucky enough to know such a beautiful soul. ❤️

I grew up with Debi’s daughter, Ashley. I have MANY fond memories of our exciting adventures and good times. Debi was “Thee” Girl Scout Leader that no one dared to mess with Lol The fact that we stayed in Girl Scouts til 5th grade said something!!! Debi, THANK YOU for painting memories into my head & heart!!! I pray for you and your family during this indescribable time, God Bless 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
