Donald A. Beaudry

August 19, 1931 - September 01, 2018

Donald A. Beaudry Donald A. Beaudry, 87, of Northport, passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018 at his home. Don was born on Aug. 19, 1931 in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Arthur and Ina Beaudry.
He graduated from Hillsdale College in 1954. After college Don was drafted into the U.S. Army in the fall of 1954. After spending eight months at Fort McClellan he received orders to report to Heyford, England. He remained in England for 10 months as the company clerk of the 98th Chemical Company. During this time he traveled to Europe whenever he had leave.
Don returned home from the Army in 1954 and started working with his dad at Beaudry Heating in Flint. After the death of his father he took ownership of the family business until 1991 when he and his wife retired to Northport.
Don married Kathleen (Kay) Pomeroy, of Birmingham, in 1958 at the First Baptist Church in Birmingham. Don and Kay moved to Flint to begin their new life together.
Don's passion for service crossed into every aspect of his long life. An active volunteer, he served his community through Trinity Church, volunteering at local events. Don's love for people and his gentle, caring soul made him a leader in his community. Don exemplified the highest level of forgiveness and gratitude.
Throughout his life Don shared an enthusiasm and love for many things, which he passed on to his children and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Sailing, photography and traveling with his wife, Kay, helped fill Don's life with precious memories and enriching experiences for which most people long. He was drawn to the beauty of nature and fascinated by life's beauty, including beach stones, driftwood and gentle breezes from his porch.
Don is survived by his two children, daughter, Kathy Haynes (Mike) and son, Kirk Beaudry; granddaughter, Ashton Beaudry; and two great-grandsons, Jaxson and Joel.
Don lost the love of his life, Kay, on May 8, 2018. Sept. 6 would have been their 60th wedding anniversary. He was also preceded in death by his only brother, Rob Beaudry in 1991.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018 at noon, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m., at Trinity Church in Northport.
