Kalamazoo - Donna Irene Rohweder, 91, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, formerly of Kewadin, Michigan, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017. She was born on December 14, 1925 in Burgoon, Ohio, to the late Walter and Lucy (Murphy) Lewis.
Donna attended Toledo Hospital School of Nursing during World War II and later went on to be a surgical nurse. She then chose to spend her time home with her children and was very active at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Tecumseh, Michigan.
After retiring she and her late husband of 65 years, William "Bill" Rohweder, enjoyed many years of living on Elk Lake. She was happiest spending time with family, traveling, reading, knitting for family & friends, and being on the lake. Donna is survived by her siblings, Gordon (Janet) Lewis, of Denver, Colorado and Carol Ann (Larry) Winegar, of Traverse City, Michigan, her two children, Kathleen (David) Bradley, of Bangor, Michigan, and William (Linda) Rohweder, of Adrian, Michigan, She is also survived by five grandsons, 12 great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in Donna's name to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Traverse City or Saron Lutheran Church in St. Joseph, Michigan. A family graveside service will be held in Traverse City.
