Harriet M. Mick, 92, of Frankfort, passed away Oct. 16, 2017 at the Maples. Born and raised in Frankfort, she was the daughter of the Rev. J.C. and Johanna Marie (Christopherson) Johnson.
After high school graduation Harriet married Bernard D. Mick on June 12, 1943 and went from city girl to country girl.
She desired to be a stay-at-home mom but when financial circumstances worsened she spent a season at the Elberta Canning Factory, and then she did secretarial work for her sister-in-law, Ethel Campbell, who was superintendent of schools. Once her children were all in school she went to work at Pet, Inc. and later after moving back into town worked for State Saving Bank. She ended her working career beside her husband at Frankfort Insurance agency. After they retired they spent many winters at Cocoa Beach, Florida.
She is survived by sister, Ruth Seltzer; children, Ronald (Betty) Mick, Sigrid (Rick) Gray and Jeanne (Dennis) Wolfgang; grandchildren, Nicole (Alan), John (Stephanie), Zane (Danielle), Heather (Kirk) and Mandy (Justin); great-grandchildren, Valerie, Justin, Lucas, Caleb, Devin, Fisher, Quincy, Keelin, Brodie, Edwin and Hattie; great-great-grandchildren, Oliver and Oaklynn; and many special nieces and nephews.
Harriet was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2015; infant son, Kenneth; brothers, Erling, Carl, Gerhart and Roger; and sisters, Signe and Beverly.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor Rick Stieve officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Contributions may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church.
