Helen's Story

Helen Anna Stevens, age 84, of Traverse City, passed away Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018 at the Munson Hospice House in the loving care of her family.
Helen was born in Traverse City on Dec. 18, 1933 to John and Rose (Schwind) McGill.
Helen lived in Traverse City her entire life, and retired from United Technology in 1985 where she worked for 15 years.
Helen loved to fish, play cards-specifically Euchre, housekeeping, bake, and cook. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Acme.
Helen is survived by her husband, Michael Stevens; daughters, Charlene (Ronald) Du Praz, California, Linda (Richard) Middaugh, Plano, Texas, sons; John Gauthier, Traverse City, James (Barbara) Gauthier, Traverse City; and sister, Dorothy (Walt) Elgen, Traverse City. Grandchildren; Kit Stock, John Trent, Amber Gauthier, Lindsay Gibson, Matthew Middaugh, and Melissa Dean.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Philip McGill; and son, David Gauthier.
A memorial service for Helen will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Acme at 11 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior. Reverend Raymond C. Cotter will officiate. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service. Interment will take place at a later date.
