Jack's Story

Jack E. Aston, 81, passed away on Feb. 28, 2018. He was born in Detroit on June 8, 1936.
Jack is survived by wife, Reida; and six children, Scott Aston, Shelly (Dennis) Sarti, Steven Aston, Sharlyn (Marty) Chapman, Sandy (Brent) Jansen, Susie (Greg) Green; five grandchildren; and niece and nephew, George (Tiffany) Pomaville, and Helene (Robert) Griffus.
Jack owned Clinton River Marina Inc. for 42 years on Lake St. Clair. He vacationed in the Torch Lake area since 1966 and built his retirement home in 1982. In his retirement years, he snowmobiled in the winter, fished in the summer and traveled with his wife, Reida. His charisma, friendship, and leadership will be missed however, our family is rejoicing that he is at peace with our Lord.
A memorial service will be held on March 10, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Alden United Methodist Church, Alden.
Memorials in lieu of flowers, may be made to Salvation Army, Cowell Family Cancer Center, or Alden United Methodist Church.
