Jim Ahlberg, 82, of Sun Lakes, Arizona, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by the love of his family on Dec. 13, 2017. The son of Daniel and Ruth (Dahlberg) Ahlberg was born on Nov. 6, 1935 in Detroit.
After graduating high school he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Japan.
Upon returning home he went to work for Ex-Cell-O Corp. After earning his bachelor's degree at Lawrence Tech he was transferred to the Cone Drive Operations division in Traverse City, where he continued his career until he retired.
He was very active in the Traverse City Elks Lodge #323, serving as an officer and on the board of directors for over 30 years.
He was an avid golfer, bowler, sci-fi fanatic and lover of all Michigan sports teams.
He was preceded in passing by his wife, Marika; son, Randall Lee; and his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Teri (Andy) Roach; sister, Arlene (Warren) Wickland; grandchildren, Jennifer Widows, Patrick Roach and Thera (Hillis) Roach; and his great-grandchildren, Bryn Widows, Sadie Widows and Clifford Gibson.
