James A. Wells

August 04, 1942 - October 04, 2018

James Adrian "Jim" Wells, 76, of Williamsburg, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018 at Munson Medical Center. He was born on Aug. 4, 1942 in Muskegon, to the late Adrian and Nina Wells.
The family moved to Kalkaska while Jim was in high school and he graduated in 1960. After going to college at Ferris State University for drafting, Jim worked for Traverse City Ironworks. He later worked for Shell Oil and finally went on his own as a consultant in the oil and gas industry.
He attended Church of the Living God in Traverse City for many years and most recently was a member of New Hope Community Church in Williamsburg. Jim loved cars and motorcycles especially in his younger years. He was a strong believer in holistic health and loved to help others. Jim was the ultimate optimist, making the most he could out of every day; he was an inspiration to those who knew him. He enjoyed wintering in Florida, and loved sunsets.
Jim is survived by his two sons, Randy Wells, of Williamsburg and Dan (Kellie) Wells, of St. Charles, Illinois; five grandchildren, Tyler, Sean, Kendra, Keegan and Mackenzie; brother, Robert (Bev) Wells; sister, Sally Richardson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Jack Richardson.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Community Church. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, friends and family may gather from 1 to 3 p.m. at New Hope Community Church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Even though I have not seen my uncle much in the past years since moving to Texas, but lots of great memories from when I was younger. I do truly think that he along with my grandfathers had a strong input with me getting into the car industry. I remember he always had a nice old cars and motorcycles that I knew were fast! Randy and Dan, sorry for your loss and know our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

When I was young Jim and Edna helped bring me closer in my walk with God. Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to be his personal hairstylist and friend. He always had words of wisdom on health and wellness of body , mind and soul! I will miss you my friend 🙏
