Jean Frances Rosa, 92, of Honor, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at The Grand Traverse Pavilions with her family by her side. She was born Sept. 23, 1925 in Mt. Clemens, the daughter of Albert and Frances (Starkey) Chapman.
Jean served as supervisor of Homestead Township for 30 years.
She was a talented crafter who enjoyed crocheting and knitting, and she used her talents to knit for the residents of The Maples. Most of all, Jean loved to spend time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jean is survived by her children, Jeanne Moore, of Beulah, Dan (Sarah) Rosa, of Williamsburg, Kitty (Kelly) McMullin, of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, and Robert (Shelly) Rosa, of Beulah; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and two nieces, Barb (John) Keeler, of Detroit, and Carol (Rob) Evans, of Orlando, Florida.
On Nov. 23, 1945 in Frankfort, Jean married Paul Rosa, who preceded her in death in 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Shirley Tice.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah, with the Reverend Thomas Maher officiating. Interment will follow in the Benzonia Township Cemetery in Benzonia. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
