Joseph Dean Rudolph, 85, of Traverse City, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City. Joe was born on Thursday, July 7, 1932 to the late Joseph and Mildred (Overy) Rudolph in Henry County, Ohio.
Following his graduation from high school, Joe served our country as a member of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant.
On Saturday, June 7, 1952 Joe married the former Adrienne Kaniewski in Traverse City.
Joe lived in the area since 1949. He was employed at Cone Gear for 38 years and at the age of 56 he retired; he then sold real estate for five years.
He earned his pilot's license and enjoyed radio controlled flying. He also enjoyed woodworking and built two of their homes.
He is survived by his wife, Adrienne; children, Jane M. (Gary) Kreps, Terry J. (Robert) Stark and Rex E. (Karen) Rudolph, all of Traverse City; grandchildren, Leslie (Michael) Martinez, Lesa Kreps, Emily and Robert Stark, Michael, Betsy and Jonathon Rudolph; and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Emily, Mara and Leilani.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Glenda Eversole; and a brother, William.
A time to visit with Joe's family will take place Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, from 4 until 6 p.m., with military honors taking place at 4 p.m., at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. No other services are planned.
The family would like to especially thank all of the caregivers at Munson Hospice House for the loving care and kindness they provided to Joe during his final days.
