June Caroline Johnson Roen, 92, of Bear Lake, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2017 at The Maples, in Frankfort, with her family by her side. She was born Aug. 14, 1925, in Frankfort, the daughter of Clarence and Anna (Lindgren) Lathwell.
June worked as a secretary for Blarney Castle for 13 years. She also operated the family farm and raised five children while her husband was away at work. June was a talented seamstress and a competitive bowler. She had a zest for life and traveled all over the country. June will be remembered as a hard worker with a strong and loving personality.
June is survived by her children, Scott Johnson, of Bear Lake, Vicki (Don Scruggs) Johnson, of Fowlerville, Randall (Katherine) Johnson, of Bear Lake, and Steve (Theresa) Johnson, of Onekama; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
June was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Douglas Johnson; her second husband, Jack Roen; her son, Duane "Mike" Michael Johnson; her brother, Bernard Lathwell; and her stepbrother, Floyd Valdick.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at the Bear Lake United Methodist Church, in Bear Lake, with Pastor Dinah Haag officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
