Karen Eileen (Haywood) Hamlin, 58, crossed over into everlasting life on Feb. 23, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Karen was born in Traverse City on Aug. 29, 1959 and was the daughter of Kenneth and Eileen (Adams) Haywood.
She is fondly remembered for her cooking, contagious laugh, spontaneity, creativity and amazing green thumb.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Haywood; and her beloved aunt, Jacquelyn Adams.
Left to cherish Karen's memory are her mother, Eileen Haywood; sister, Joyce and husband, Todd Pifer; daughters, Jennifer and husband, Bryan Atwood, Alyssa and husband, David Knopp, and Kelly and husband, Joshua Cox; aunt, Norma Pleva; uncle, Donald and wife, Colleen Adams; several loving grandchildren; and nieces; nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018 at the Presbyterian Church of Traverse City on Westminster Road. The family will greet friends starting at 10 a.m. The Reverend Jose Lopez will officiate.
