Kay Francis Chartier passed away on Oct. 7, 2017 at her home in Fife Lake surrounded by her loved ones. Kay was born to Norm and Kitty (Clark) Phillips on Aug. 21, 1935 in Lansing.
Tom and Kay were married on Aug. 14, 1954 in Traverse City. They were a complementary pair who knew how to enjoy life through traveling, spending time with friends and family and transforming their home on Fife Lake into the place of bliss that it is today.
Kay loved her home very much. She was always happy to host family and friends for cocktails, a home cooked dinner and of course, to play cards. She was a strong and feisty woman who knew how to fill a room with good times and laughter.
She is survived by her children, Tom Chartier and Kathy Mcclumpha; her grandchildren, Cliff, Jenny and Emily; her siblings, Pat, Carol, Bill and Clark; and of course, her beloved dog, Dexter.
The family will be celebrating Kay's life with a small memorial service next summer.
In lieu of flowers and plants, please donate to Munson Hospice of Traverse City.
