Kim Charles Ludwig, 63, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully March 4, 2018. It is with great sadness that Kim's family announces his passing. Kim was deeply loved and is already missed by all who knew him.
Kim was born April 17, 1954 in Pontiac the son of William and Loralee (Day) Ludwig. He was a 1972 graduate of Lahser High School, Bloomfield Hills.
Kim moved to Traverse City in 1972, where he began his career in residential and commercial construction.
Kim loved the outdoors. His favorite activities were downhill skiing and waterskiing, but mostly he loved to ride and tour on his Harley Davidson.
He was a collector of unique memorabilia, most notably motorcycles, antique trucks and cars. To view his collection was like walking through a museum throughout his house.
Kim had a presence that drew people in. He was a friend to whomever he met, young and old, and was loved by all. Kim always followed his own path, but above all else Kim loved his family and took pride in each of them.
Although Kim is deeply missed, we all are comforted knowing that he is at peace and can rest with the Lord.
Kim will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Loralee Ludwig; and siblings, Mark (Mari), twin brother, Greg (Kimberly), and Marsha (Terry Wiegman). Kim will also be remembered by his nieces and nephews, Jason (Michelle) Ludwig, Lauren (Tim) Tholt, Leland (Hannah) Wiegman and John Wiegman; and seven great-nephews and nieces.
Kim was predeceased by his father, William Edward Ludwig.
A small graveside service will be held at a date yet to be determined in the Benzonia Township Cemetery.
Those wishing to honor Kim's memory may consider donating to a hospice organization of their choice.
The Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah is in charge of arrangements; www.bennett-barzfuneralhome.com.
