LaVern's Story

LaVern "Andy" Andres passed away on Aug. 11, 2017 at his home in Acme. He was born June 29, 1932 in Traverse City.
He graduated from Saint Francis School and joined the U.S. Marines. Upon returning from Korea he married Janet (Galligan) on June 9, 1956.
He served as a volunteer fireman and chief for Acme. Andy started several businesses including Andy's Interior Cleaning.
He enjoyed pheasant hunting and fishing, was involved with the Young Marines and helped with many fund raising events. He was a long-standing member of Christ the King church.
Andy is survived by his wife; daughters, Patricia (Dan) Schroeder, Theresa (Jeff) Baker, Julie (Mike) Dooley; and son, Andy; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service on Sept. 28 at 1 p.m. at Acme Township Cemetery, and a gathering afterwards at Christ the King Church for visiting with family.
