Leona Ann (Ozarzak) Treter, age 97, went to meet her maker and reunite with her beloved husband, Ernie, on Feb. 4, 2018 after a short illness.
She and Ernie raised their five children in Toledo but vacationed every summer for three weeks in Traverse City, where they later retired.
Her favorite time of year was Christmas, which she always made magical. Her love of cooking and baking and talent for it would truly shine that time of year.
She also was involved in volunteer work which included Little Sisters of the Poor, past president of OLPH Altar Society and Mercy Guild, but of all her accomplishments nothing was more important than being involved with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Ernest Treter, preceded her in death as did her great-grandchildren, Ruby and Louie Treter and Harrison Mack.
Surviving are her children, John (Leslie) Treter, Karen (Charlie) Kaufman, Doug (MaryLee) Treter, Ann (Robert) Schmalzried and Terri (Pam) Treter; 16 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Saint Joan of Arc Church on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at 11:30 a.m., with visitation from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. before the service. A rosary recitation will be at 11 a.m. at the church. Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
