Leticia's Story

Leticia Buan Silliven, age 66, of Traverse City, passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at her home on Spider Lake, which was her wish. She was born Sept. 2, 1951 in San Juan, Samal, Bataan Philippines. She was the fourth child born to Salvador and Thelma (Diaz) Buan. Leticia's brother Eddie introduced her to Captain Craig Silliven who was living in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. They dated for several years and got married on July 14, 1990 at the United Methodist Church of Ludington.
Leticia worked as a certified nurse aide since 1990 and nearly 20 years at the Villa of Traverse Point. She was loved by many of her residents, co-workers and friends. She lived a full and happy life and will be remembered as a great worker, wonderful and amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend.
In addition to her husband, Craig, Leticia is survived by two children, Rochelle (Mark) Adams and Romelie (Blair Williams) Reveche; five grandchildren, Roxie (Kyle) Bitner, Jimmie Tremaine, Caleb Adams, Macy Reveche-Williams and Payge Reveche- Williams; five step-grandchildren, Chris, Garrett, Brock, Kadyn and Kalyr; three great-grandchildren, Raelynn, Ryan and Kristian; five siblings, Julieta Buan-Rodriquez, Romeo Buan, Eduardo Buan, Carmelita Buan-Sosa and Milagros Buan-DeVera and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Leticia was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Benjamin and Esmeraldo Buan.
Funeral Mass for Leticia Silliven will be celebrated at Christ the King Catholic Church in Acme, on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 4 p.m. with Fr. Raymond C. Cotter as celebrant. Graveside services for Leticia will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 12 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsdale with Fr. David Reamsnyder officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
