Linda Hutchinson, of Arcadia, our dear friend, mother, grandmother, coworker and advocate to all in need, left us on Dec. 12, 2017 to join the Christmas choir in heaven.
Linda devoted her life to the service of others, often neglecting her own needs to insure the comfort and stability of others.
She was the proud mother of Joel (Tara Redman) Hutchinson and doting grandmother to Kaleigh and Weston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Joann Hutchinson; and her cousin, Roger.
Linda's mission in life was to do what she could to find housing, insurance, medical assistance, food and donations for anyone in need. She was on numerous boards and attended countless meetings to network with every agency that had services to offer. She received invitations to parties, open houses and graduations from many grateful clients giving her credit for them achieving their goals. Every trip to town or the grocery store, people would greet her with a hug and share with her how they were doing; she had time for them all.
Linda loved her gardens, crafting, watching her grandchildren participate in sports, music and dance. She was founder of the Crafty Beaver Club and hosted many weekend gatherings of music, crafts and love for all her friends. She knew the true meaning of friendship and will be missed by many.
Her smile and laugh would light up a room and her soft feelings and tears would melt your heart.
Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 17, from 3 to 5 p.m., at Jowett Family Funeral Home in Benzonia. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at St. Ann Catholic Church, with Fr. John Porter officiating. A luncheon will follow.
Please feel free to donate to her grandchildren's education fund, as they were the light and are the legacy of her life.
Arrangements are by Jowett Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Service.
