Surrounded by her adoring family, Lois Ann Gaffney, 82, of Punta Gorda, Florida, formerly of Williamsburg, entered into eternal life with her loving Savior on July 3, 2017. She was born to the late Porter and Bonnie (Ellars) Snow in Swartz Creek on Aug. 25, 1934.
Lois enjoyed gardening, fishing, bowling, baking, painting and being with family. It's a struggle to describe Lois in a paragraph as she was nothing short of amazing.
She will be remembered as a strong, gracious, kind and loving homemaker extraordinaire as well as an awesome storyteller! Lois had an amazing ability to tell stories, and those stories were enhanced by her incredible sense of humor! Her grandkids and great-grandkids would gather around, listening with great excitement, as she told comical stories of raising her children.
Lois and her late husband, Lee Coy, were blessed with eight boys and one girl, and their survival through childhood is a true testament of her mothering ability and some would say ... divine intervention!
Lois is survived by her children, Michael (Cheryl) Coy, Lyle (Pat) Coy, Doug (Vicky) Coy, Lola (Jim) Coy-Lahti, Lee Marvin (Cindy) Coy, Alan (Cris) Coy, Phillip Coy, Timothy Coy and Gordon (Terry) Coy; 31 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Janet, Margaret and Barb; and brother, Bert.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouses, Lee Coy and Richard Gaffney; sisters, Betty and Pauline; brothers, Don and Richard; daughter-in-law, Shelley; and two infant grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at noon, with time to gather beginning at 11 a.m., on Friday, July 14, 2017, at Kalkaska Funeral Home. Andy Bratton will officiate the service. Burial will be in St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery in Barker Creek.
Memorial contributions may be made in Lois' honor to Hospice of Michigan - Northwest Chapter 103 or Parkinson's Network North.
Arrangements are entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
