Margaret "Margee" Ruggles, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, age 84, of Commerce Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018.
Born to Fred and Anne Vermeersch on July 10, 1934, she was the loving wife of the late Glenn.
She is survived by children, Scott (Janet), Julie (Gary) Filipic, Tim, Suzy, Angela (Albert) Shay and Marissa Penrod; 14 beautiful grandchildren; sisters, MaryAnne (the late Robert and the late Gerry), Johanne (William) and Katherine; and brother, Fred (Kay).
Margee was a proud graduate of Shrine High School.
Margee devoted her life to family and friends and especially enjoyed summer days spent with family on the shores of Grand Traverse Bay. She spent her early years working in the advertising business in Detroit before devoting her life to raising her six children.
She was an accomplished artist and an expert jeweler. Margee spent her golden years traveling abroad and enjoying time with her children and grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will take place at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 9086 Hutchins Road (at Union Lake Road), Saturday, Aug. 11, at 11 a.m. She will lie in state from 10 a.m. Friends may visit Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 340 Pontiac Trail, Walled Lake (three blocks south of Maple Road), Friday, Aug. 10, from 2 to 8 p.m., with prayers with memory sharing at 7 p.m. Margee will be laid to rest with her husband Glenn at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
