Mary Louise died peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Mary Louise was born on Nov. 12, 1966 in Northport; she was the daughter of Margaret Marie Boyle and her adopted father, Michael Boyle. Mary's biological father, David Lee Anderson, passed away before Mary Louise was born.
Mary married the love of her life, Joel Mauricio Menchaca, on June 25, 1994 in Peshawbestown.
Mary Louise was a citizen of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa & Chippewa Indians and a member of the Kewadin Indian Mission.
Mary graduated from Traverse City Central High School and was employed for several years at the Grand Traverse Resort and casinos.
Mary was an avid Michigan fan! Mary was a beautiful, warm-hearted woman with a heart of gold. Mary was kind and generous; she showed love to everyone, giving tough love when needed. Mary would give the biggest hugs to all, taking your breath away; she will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Mary is survived by her husband, Joel; her mother, Margaret Marie Boyle; and daughters, Patricia Marie David and Margaret Bernice Sandoval, all of Traverse City. She is also survived by her precious grandchildren, Nikkita, Christopher, Tristin, Gregory Jr. III, Curtis Jr., Elaine, Michael, Anna, Eli and Eladia; and great-granddaughter, Selena Marlene. Mary is survived by Robert and Sheryl Thompson and family from Bernalillo, New Mexico. Mary is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary was preceded in death by those who will welcome her home; her fathers; her grandparents, Peter and Anna David; grandparents, Tom and Agnes Boyle; grandparents, Percy and Louise Anderson; her beloved uncles, Daniel and Calvin David; also Gerald, Percy Jr., Robert, Steven, Russell, Edward and Albert Anderson; beloved aunt, Florine (Anderson) Alberts; and cousin, Monica June Anderson, who had a special place in her heart.
A celebration of life will be held for Mary Louise on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019 at Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 2 p.m. A luncheon will be held at the GTB Office on Three Mile Road following the funeral.
