Morris Craig "Deck" Decker Jr., 60, of Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on Aug. 31, 2017 at the Mike O'Callaghan Military Medical Center on Nellis Air Force Base. Born Jan. 28, 1957 in Detroit, he was the son of Morris Decker Sr. and JoAnne (Cox) Decker and was known as Craig or Deck by his friends. He graduated from Traverse City High School in 1976.
Mr. Decker served his country proudly with his enlistment in the United States Air Force and 21 years of honorable and distinctive service as a Crew Chief, Flight-line Superintendent and Project Officer. Upon retirement from active duty he continued with Federal Civil Service for an additional 17 years as an Operations and Logistics manager displaying a tireless and wonderful knack for solving problems and accomplishing the mission.
Craig enjoyed spending his spare time golfing, shooting darts in the garage, playing fantasy football and was an avid volunteer to anyone in need.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pat N. (Nakprasit) Decker. They married on Feb. 21, 1981 at Thetford, England, in the United Kingdom.
Funeral services took place in Las Vegas.
