Muriel's Story

Text size

Muriel Gene Dean, 97, passed away Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 at Munson Medical Center with her family by her side. Muriel was affectionately known as Gene, Aunt Gene or Grandma Dean by family and friends. She was the first child of the late Walter and Lucille (Bendall) Katt, of Corunna.
Gene successfully raised two children, Ronald and Sharon. She was very proud of her children and deeply appreciated the loyal love her daughter, Sharon, and son-in-law, Forrest, gave her by assisting her in various ways over the past four years.
Gene is survived by her son, Ronald (Eunice) Rondeau, of Swartz Creek; daughter, Sharon (Forrest) Locke, of Williamsburg; three grandchildren, Kristina (Greg) Satterfield, Kelly (Hollie) Locke and Stephen (Ivelisse) Rondeau; and four great-grandchildren, Ryan, Kaitlyn, Allison and Emily.
She was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Jared and Lindsey Satterfield.
Gene proved to be a "lady of ladies." She was very positive, loyal and self-sacrificing. She was a stranger to no one and always had a kind word and a listening ear for everyone she met.
Gene was a lover of Bible study and research. She loved her God, Jehovah, and was very proud to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She treasured sharing Bible truths she found with others. Someone said of her, "Wow, what a sterling example!" We will all feel the void and miss her until we welcome her back in the resurrection on a paradise Earth, which she was convinced of from the Bible promise in Isaiah 65:17.
Special thanks are extended to Dr. Sara Seaver and Dr. Miliken and the nurses at Munson Medical Center for the very compassionate care given to Gene.
A memorial service for Gene will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at 2 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 559 County Road 612 NE, Kalkaska.
