Naomi Pauline (Denune) Crawford, 88, of Frankfort, formerly Beulah, passed away Dec. 26, 2017.
Naomi was born May 22, 1929, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Jeff and Ida Denune. At a young age Naomi's father died and she was thus raised by her mother and stepfather, Archie Pratz. She was the youngest of 10 children.
Naomi and her husband, Sivert, spent 40 years on their fruit farm in Frankfort, where they raised a family. The last 30 years were spent on Upper Herring Lake in their beloved log home. Naomi was proud to be a Benzie County native and especially proud of being raised in Beulah.
Naomi is survived by her husband of 70 years, Sivert Crawford; children, Don (Phyllis Olsen), Robin Crawford and Candace Kniffin; grandchildren, Ingrid, Chris, Jami, Wesley, Sivert, Stacy, Justin, Brittany and Aaron; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and other extended family members.
Naomi was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Barry and Kim Crawford; and her nine siblings.
A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, Dec. 31, at 2 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church of Frankfort, with Pastor Rick Stieve serving as officiant. Receiving of friends will begin at 1 p.m. and continue until the time of services at the church.
