Norman "Norm" Joseph Labadie Jr., 59, of Thompsonville, died Monday, May 8, 2017 at home. He was born April 16, 1958 in Detroit, the son of Norman and Helen (Kovach) Labadie Sr.
Norm attended John Glenn High School in Westland, where he held numerous weight lifting records.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.
Norm was a beloved spouse, son, father and grandfather who loved his family dearly. He will be remembered as a good man who would help anyone, and he will be missed by all who knew him.
Norm is survived by his wife, Dawn Hall-Labadie, of Thompsonville; his daughters, Brandice (William) Rivera, of Grand Rapids, and Brianna (Neal) Webster, of Holt; his grandchildren, Kenton Webster, of Holt, and Sofia Raff, of Grand Rapids; his mother, Helen (Lawrence Berry) Labadie, of Westland; his father, Norman (Violet) Labadie Sr., of Honor; his stepsisters, Kim (Hugh) White, of Palm Harbor, Florida, and Shelley (Kirk) Sylvester, of Port Richey, Florida; his dogs, Willie and Blue; his niece; and numerous nephews and cousins.
Norm was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Mary Kovach; his paternal grandparents, Floyd Labadie and Al and Mildred Bailey; his maternal aunt, Rose Witowski; and his dog, Duke.
A celebration of Norm's life will take place in the summer.
