Patrick "Pat" Priest Kerby, 55, of Interlochen, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017. He was born April 17, 1962 the son of Richard Kerby and Laura (Priest) Kerby in Charlevoix.
Pat worked in the drywall and construction industry.
He was an avid fisherman, spending many hours (winter and summer) on Green Lake. One of his favorite fishing spots on Green Lake was given the designation "Kerby's Corners" by his many friends, in addition to his brothers. Pat looked forward to and enjoyed deer camp each November. In the spring he could always be found searching for the elusive morel.
Most of all, Pat loved his family and all of their gatherings over the years. Pat never had an unkind word to say about others, something he was well-known for.
Pat is survived by his mother, Laura Kerby, of Interlochen; brothers, John (Jan) Kerby, of Connecticut, Tim (Kathy) Kerby, of Interlochen, Wade Kerby, of Lake Ann, and Mike (Melissa) Kerby, of Mesick; sisters, Connie Ferguson, of Interlochen, Carissa Blonshine, of Grawn, Bonny Kerby, of Interlochen, and Laurie McGrath, of Beulah.
Pat was preceded in death by his father, Richard; and special brothers-in-law, Ken Ferguson and Tom Blonshine.
Pat's family would like to thank his many friends for the support and love shown during his illness. A special thanks is also extended to Grand Traverse Pavilions for the care Pat received during his time there.
No services will be held at this time for Pat.
