Richard "Rick" Vieau, age 48, of Traverse City, passed away at home on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017 with family by his side.
Rick will be remembered as a great man, a loving husband, father, brother, son and beloved friend. Right up to the end he was outgoing, always having a knack for making light of even the most awkward of situations; his contagious laugh filled the room. He always had a light-hearted, roll-with-the-punches kind of attitude and a smirk that could make everything okay again. He will never be forgotten.
Rick was born to Richard and Grace (Fuller) on April 27, 1969 and raised in Frankfort. Rick owned two restaurants prior to finding his passion as a builder. He owned R & R Construction for 25 years, building homes throughout Northern Michigan.
Rick is survived by his wife, Patty; mother, Grace; brothers, Randy, Ray and Doug (Frankee); sisters, Doranda and Teresa (Bob); nieces and nephews, Ross, Rachel, Samantha, Brittany, Shannon, Michelle, Missy, Megan and their families; two adult children residing in Florida; stepsons, Jeff (Amanda), Jason and Logan; best friends, Eddie (Alice) Parcia and Cassalyn (Aaron) Spangler; and his faithful companion, Jack.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard; and his brother-in-law, Kevin.
A visitation is planned for Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Covell Funeral Home of Traverse City. A celebration of Rick's life is planned for Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, at Covell Funeral Home.
