Robert Coffey Sr., formerly of Interlochen, born July 20, 1926 in Central City, Kentucky, son of a coal miner, passed away on May 3, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Ann (Dane) in 1998; parents; nine siblings; and close friend, Robert (Bud) Piper.
He is survived by his son, Robert P.; daughter-in-law, Tamara (Clingan) Coffey; grandchildren, Alyssa and her husband, Tony Robinson, Andrea and her husband, Bradley Griffith and Robert F. Coffey; dear nephew, Dennis Coffey; and several additional nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by close friends, whom he also considered his kids, Paul and his wife, Diana Lezanic, Christy Lezanic and her husband, (Brad Byrne) and their family, Brian Lezanic,as well as Joyce Piper and their families.
He retired from Chrysler (Dodge Main in Detroit) after 30 years of dedicated service and moved to Interlochen.
An avid sportsman, he was happiest when hunting, fishing or spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren.
He was also a lifetime Detroit Tigers and Red Wings fan.
