Shannon's life was full of love, purpose and generosity. Shannon was an admired nurse at Munson hospital in Traverse City and recently completed her master's degree in nursing. Another Beautiful Soul taken too soon. We moved in next to them and only had the pleasure of knowing her and Ken a short time. We lost track of them when they moved but we thought of her and Ken often. Shannon now is at peace but will never be forgotten by so many.

Shannon will be missed greatly by all that knew her and were touched by her. She was an amazing woman. There are not enough words to describe her. Ever since I can remember, Shannon always had sparkle in her eyes and a heart full of warmth. Heaven most certainly has more sparkle, warmth, and fabulousness. Love to you all and may your strength in God help you through this tragic time.

Wow! I'm completely shocked and saddened by this news. I met Shannon when they moved in across the street and we became quick friends! I always enjoyed her humor and willingness to lend a hand! Although I lost touch after they moved...I always admired & appreciated her vivacious spirit. My thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones.

Shannon was beautiful inside and out. When I visited her mom and dad there was never a day that she didn’t call or come by to visit her mom and dad. So many times she would bring something for her mom. They were so close and I know Vicki will think about her every day and will miss those talks and visits. She will be missed here on earth but there will a be great meetings with those who went before her. I will certainly miss her sweet soul and beautiful face. Love you Shannon.

I met Shannon when she was my student during Lifespan Nursing at NMC on D4. She had a dynamic outgoing vibrant personality. She was a natural leader. I was so impressed by her wit, laughter and determination to succeed in life, we quickly became close. I was proud when she graduated and got a position on D4. She stood out in a crowd. Rest in peace Shannon. You most certainly be missed.

I was fortunate to have worked with Shannon for a few years on the Orthopedic unit. Shannon was always good for an "atta boy" and a beautiful smile. She always had a big bag of goodies with her when coming to work which she shared with all of her fellow nurses. She was a joy to work with and had a glowing personality. She had the goal to become a Nurse Practitioner, which she had just completed recently. She will be missed in many ways, but especially at Munson as she touched so many lives in her years serving many patients and employees alike. I hope that God has a special place in his plan for this girl as she deserves a wonderful eternity. Shannon, we will miss you dearly. And tha...nk you for extending the lives of others in need at the end of your Earthly life. Love you Shanon, Cheryl Waisanen RN at MunsonRead more
