Terrance J. "TJ" Robinson, age 74, passed away Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017 at his home.
TJ was born on Dec. 27, 1942, to Gordon and Nettie (Baker) Robinson in Traverse City. TJ grew up in Traverse City and graduated from Central High School.
Right after high school, TJ went to work in the trucking industry where he worked for the Ford Garage. Soon thereafter, TJ started his own trucking company, TJ Robinson Trucking here in Traverse City, hauling fresh fruit all across the United States. TJ has been in the trucking industry for over 52 years and also took part in ice road trucking in Alaska.
TJ was an avid outdoorsman, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing near his home on Silver Lake. TJ had a handful of hobbies as well; he had his pilots license and was the proud owner of two airplanes, and also made moonshine for him and friends.
TJ is survived by his brother, Gordon P. Robinson II, of Traverse City; and sister, Brenda Linstrom, of Muskegon. TJ is also survived by his good friends, Brentt Schichtel, Glen Allen, and Dave Whittcup.
TJ was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service for TJ will take place at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior.
