Virginia Mary (Fleis) Brazes, 91, from Pueblo, Colorado, formerly of Cedar, died August 1, 2016.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 30, at Holy Rosary Church Cemetery.
Virginia was born Nov. 3, 1924 in Traverse City, the daughter of Paul John Fleis and Katherine (Cygan) Fleis of Cedar. On Nov. 7, 1942 in Benettsville, South Carolina, she married Francis "Bill" Brazes, who died in 2001.
Virginia and her husband originally owned Bill's Texaco Garage and Summer Resort Restaurant in Cedar. They moved to Pueblo, Colorado in 1961 where she retired after 40 years as a manager for Stanley Home Products.
She is survived by her children, Linda McCabe, of Sequim, Washington, Beverly Shelden, of Branson, Colorado, Sheila Michel, of Canyon City, Colorado, William Brazes, of Orrick, California, Ronald Brazes of Pueblo, Colorado; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild. In addition to her husband, Virginia was preceded in death by two children, Gloria Jean and Allan Roger Brazes; two brothers, Ben Fleis and Frank Flees; one sister, Dorothy Zimmerman.
