Albert Peter Miesch, age 75, of Buckley, passed away peacefully Monday, Aug. 14, 2017. He was born Aug. 7, 1942 in Muskegon to Albert Michael and Rose Mary (Adamczyk) Miesch.
Albert graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School in 1960. He then served in the National Guard and U.S. Army Reserves for six years.
He married Carolyn L. (Hower) Miesch, his wife of over 54 years, at St. Michaels Church of Muskegon in 1962.
In his free time he enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. He was also a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Al volunteered with the firefighters in both Saginaw and Buckley as well as at the Munson hospital of Traverse City for a couple of years. His love for children made him a great Santa for various functions.
Albert is survived by his wife, Carolyn L. (Hower) Miesch; his daughters, Michelle (Stephen) Pankowski, Susan Utter, Carol (Charles) Peterson and Maryalice (Gabriel) Bogart; his siblings, Norberta (John) Forberg and Norbert Miesch; his grandchildren, Lacey, Rachel, Brian, Micaela, Bethany, Anthony, Erica, Garth, Grace, Charlie, Max and Jenna; and his great-grandchildren, Noah, Norah, Jude and Josie.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rose Shepard.
Visitation will take place today, Aug. 17, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m., with the rosary prayed at 6:30 p.m. and vigil service at 7 p.m., at St. Mary's of Hannah Catholic Church in Kingsley. The funeral service will be on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Hannah in Kingsley. Interment will be in St. Mary of Hannah Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are appreciated to St. Mary of Hannah Church or to Heartland Hospice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Covell Funeral Home of Kingsley.
