Austin's Story

Text size

Austin was born Oct. 28, 1995 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. After a long illness, Austin passed away on June 17, 2017 at Celebration Hospital in Kissimmee, Florida. His father, Samuel A. Oslin, of Boyne City, and mother, Janice M. Robinson, of Traverse City, were at his bedside, along with close friend and partner, Todd McMasters, of Orlando, Florida.
Although Austin was born in Traverse City and raised in Boyne City, he chose to make his home in Orlando, Florida, where he was an employee at Disney World.
Austin was a young man full of life. He enjoyed going to the beach or catching a movie with friends. Traveling abroad or having a simple but great cappuccino in a local cafe also helped him in his quiet leisure time.
Austin was commonly called "Ozzy" or "Oz," a nickname that was given to him shortly after his birth by his Papa Gary.
Surviving Austin are his father, Samuel A. Oslin; mother, Janice M. Robinson; brother, Dillon Oslin; sister, Christy Jo Oslin Peck (husband, Jacob Peck); grandparents, Daniel Oslin, Gary Wilson and Christine Wilson; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Janice Quinton and Althea Stallard; great-grandparents, George B. Wilson, Rose M. Wilson, William H. Zick and Shirley A. McQueer Zick; and uncle, Cory Douglas Wilson.
Austin was loved unconditionally, and he will be greatly missed.
A private memorial service will be held today, June 24, at his father's home.
