Barbara Ann Swisher, 92, of Frankfort, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2017. She was born on Aug. 31, 1924 in Rochester, New York, to Thomas and Margaret (Nanz) Rodgers.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Loren Clyde Swisher; daughter, Marla Perry; and stepson, Loren Swisher Jr.
In 1952, Barbara married John Perry in Rochester, New York. She adopted three children, Marla, Mark and Karen. Barbara's first child Marla passed away in 1964 from a tragic accident. Divorced in 1968, she raised two children and worked as a hospital data entry receptionist. Barbara married Loren Clyde Swisher on Nov. 12, 1971 in Wolcott, New York. They moved to Benzonia in 1975. Together they owned Dunk-N-Sip Donuts in Beulah, faithfully delivered the Record-Eagle and raised children.
She is survived by her son, Mark (Ann) Perry; daughter, Karen (Jim) Oselka; six grandchildren, Samuel, Megan and Jack Perry; Taylor and Jared Oselka; Samuel Swisher; and beloved family members, Norris, Diana, Patrick Cutler and Marie Cutler Boeckman; Neale and Joyce Cutler.
Her family extends their gratitude to Joy Givers Assisted Living in Traverse City, Chronic Care Management and Hospice of Michigan for their loving support.
A graveside service will be held at Blaine Township Cemetery, on June 3 at 1 p.m. to honor Barbara.
