Bradley Ray Doublestein, 60, of Traverse City and formerly of Allegan, died April 6, 2017
Brad was born in Allegan on Feb. 11, 1957, to Duane (deceased) Doublestein and Evelyn (Doublestein) Gorby. He is survived by his mother Evelyn (Doublestein) Gorby; brothers Jeff Doublestein and Steve Doublestein; and sister Laura (Doublestein) Szabo.
Brad attended Allegan Public Schools and graduated in 1975. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1982 from Michigan State University.
Brad was a dedicated resident of Michigan's north country, living in Traverse City for many years. He loved the forests, lakes, beaches and farmlands around his home.
Brad's interests included growing Bonsai trees, raising cacti and succulents, plant propagation and hybridization, hand thrown ceramics, raising reptiles, and nature photography.
Brad worked in public and private schools as a foreign language teacher and substitute and was employed by Meijer for five years. He attended Saint Archangel Gabriel Greek Orthodox Church in Traverse City.
A private memorial will be held in his honor at a later date.
