Colton Louis Kranz, 27, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 20, 2017 at his home in Grand Rapids. Colton was born on Thursday, March 1, 1990 in Rochester to Linda (Aginaga) Kranz and the late Andrew Kranz.
He had a deep passion for music and was a gifted musician, having the ability to play multiple instruments. He studied graphic arts at the Kendall Art Institute and was currently using his talents to restore the beautiful architecture he admired in the Heritage Hill homes.
Colton was a writer, sculptor, innovator, free spirit and a poetic soul with a heart of gold. A gifted athlete, he excelled at many sports but motocross was his passion.
In all things Colton was above all kind and shared his love with those around him. His legacy will live on through the love and kindness that we share with one another.
Colton is survived by his mother, Linda (Jeff Dittrich) Aginaga; sister, Whitney Kranz; and paternal grandparents, Jerry and Beverly (Jacques) Kranz.
He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Kranz; and maternal grandparents, Louis and Gail (Bedard) Aginaga.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 2, 2017 at St. Francis Catholic Church. Father Ken Stachnik officiated services.
