A devout Catholic, she was an active member and dedicated volunteer in her parishes, St. Eugene's in Detroit and St. Regis in Bloomfield Hills. She made many cherished and lasting friendships within her school and church families.
When she could no longer live independently Dolores chose to move to Traverse City. Her family would like to thank the residents and staff of Glen Eagle for helping to make her "up north" years happy ones. Her family is also grateful for the welcome she received from the parish of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She enjoyed participating in Mass each week.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brothers, Murray and Gerald.
In addition to her children, she is survived by her siblings, Paul McFarland and Kathleen Flores; grandchildren, Melissa (Brent) Wheat, Douglas (Piper) Radtke, Jeremy Radtke, Robyn (Matthew) Marks and Timothy DeYoung; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Reagan and Evan Wheat and Corban, Declan and Adelaide Radtke; and beloved nieces and nephews.
According to Dolores' wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life Mass is scheduled for noon on Aug. 25 at St. Regis.
Dolores contributed to many charities, and the family trusts that any memorials that people wish to make will be given thoughtfully.
