Donald L. Salisbury, 87, of Traverse City, passed away March 10, 2017 at Munson Medical Center with his daughters by his side. Don was born on Nov. 3, 1929 in Kasson Township to the late Bert and Mary (Keaton) Salisbury.
Don married Phyllis A. Mann on Dec. 19, 1949. Together they shared 46 years of marriage before she passed away in 1996.
Don retired from the City of Traverse City. He was a maintenance operator for the waste water treatment plant.
Don was a member of the Traverse City Eagles Lodge #383.
In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and tending to his vegetable garden. He was an avid black jack player and liked to visit Turtle Creek Casino.
Don is survived by his daughters, Kathy Ann (Randy) Blunck, Pamela S. (David Dilley) Salisbury and Gail L. Salisbury, all of Traverse City; grandchildren, Matt Blunck, Shawn (Lottie) Bottomley and Donald Bottomley; and great-grandchildren, Ashlee, Kyrsten, Trystin, Tucker, Tyler, AbbieGail and Lizzy.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; his parents; and his brothers and sisters.
Visitation for friends and family will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. The memorial service celebrating Don's life will be held on Wednesday, March 15, at 11 a.m., with visitation beginning one hour prior, at the funeral home. Graveside services will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Phyllis.
