Dorothy L. Hanna, age 91, of Traverse City, went home with her best friend and savior, Jesus, on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017 at Grand Traverse Pavilions. She was born Sept. 19, 1925 in Traverse City to Cecil and Ollideen (Case) Ninnis.
She was trained as a child therapist, serving children and families at the Child Guidance Clinic in Traverse City.
Dorothy was a unique, joyful soul. She loved bright colors, flowers and especially dancing. She also enjoyed reading, gardening and embroidering. Most of all, she loved children - no matter if they were family or not.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Richard Joseph Hanna and Timothy Scott Hanna; sisters, Doris Hess and Yvonne Ray; and brother, Clyde Reed.
Dorothy's family would like to extend a special thank you to the Grand Traverse Pavilions staff, especially Cindi, Peggy and Robin, and her continual caregivers.
Services will take place at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Traverse City.
