Jean W. McMullin, 97, of Beulah, died Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. She was born December 18, 1919, in Ontario, Canada, the daughter of John and Margaret (Reid) Wilson.
Jean was a social services employee for the State of Michigan in the Detroit and Benzie County areas. She was active for many years in the Benzie County Players and was an avid bridge player. She and her husband, Ed, were longtime residents of Platte Lake, and she will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Linda (Dave) Tranter, of North Webster, Indiana; her son, Kelly (Kitty Jo) McMullin, of Travelers Rest, South Carolina; her four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
On June 12, 1943, Jean married Edward L. McMullin, who preceded her in death after 70 years of marriage on July 10, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 13, 2017, at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home, in Beulah, with Pastor Dan Ingersoll officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
