Karen Elizabeth Nostrandt, 68, of Beulah, died Sunday, March 12, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Nov. 11, 1948 in Traverse City, the daughter of Danny and Sarah (Volpe) Nostrandt.
Karen worked as a beautician, both independently and with Village Vanity in Honor. She also drove bus for Benzie Central Schools.
The most important thing in Karen's life was her family. She loved to bake and travel, often with her mother by her side. She was a loving aunt and made attending the extracurricular activities of her nieces and nephews a top priority.
Karen will be remembered as a kind and caring woman with a heart of gold who will live on in the hearts of her family and many friends.
Karen is survived by her mother, Sarah Nostrandt, of Honor; her brothers, Ronald (Peggy) Nostrandt, of Beulah, and Danny (Candace) Nostrandt, of Frankfort; her nieces and nephews, Amy (Christopher) Zwolensky, of Grand Blanc, Lori (Jason) Hodel, of Rockford, David (Erin) Nostrandt, of Birch Run, Danny Nostrandt Jr., of Westland, Charles (Nicole) Nostrandt, of Frankfort, Bradford Nostrandt, of Boise, Idaho, and Brian Nostrandt, of Frankfort; and many special friends, clients and kids from her bus route.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, Danny Nostrandt.
A celebration of Karen's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Eden Bible Church in Beulah, with Pastor Dan Ingersoll officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church.
