Mary Elizabeth Hodges (Frederick), formerly of Mancelona, MI, died peacefully in South Lyon, MI on March 3, 2017 at the age of 82, surrounded by her family.
Mary was born in Detroit, MI to Rose (Ryan) and Francis Frederick on September 20, 1934. Mary attended St. Agnes School in Detroit and after graduation, met her husband, John. They were married for 58 years until his death in 2013.
Mary worked as the Coldsprings Township Clerk for 20 years, retiring five years ago. There is nothing she loved more than being with her children, grandchildren and made sure to spoil each of them.
Mary was a generous, kind and determined woman who was strong in her Catholic faith and a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Kalkaska, MI.
Mary is survived by her son, John (Cathy) Hodges of Livonia, MI, daughter, Kathy (Brian) Conroy of Ohio, son, David (Michelle) Hodges of Connecticut, nine grandchildren (Nicki (Keith) Warner, Christopher Conroy, Keith (Cheryl) Conroy, Scott Conroy, Allie Conroy, Kristina Conroy, Danielle Hodges, Trevor Hodges and Tyler Hodges), one great-grandson (Nathan Warner) and another great-grandson Warner to be born in April, along with many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in her death by her husband of 58 years, John Hodges, daughter, Judi Lewis, son, Jimmy Hodges and brother, John Frederick .
A funeral mass is scheduled for Saturday, March 25 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in South Lyon, MI, with a luncheon following.
