Norma M. Schneider, 93, of Midland, MI, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, July 30, 2017 at Munson Hospice House. She spent her last ten years living with her son, Doug, and daughter-in-law, Victoria, at her cottage on Green Lake in Interlochen.
Norma was born Feb. 27, 1924 to the late Violet M. (Hall) and Lloyd Monroe in Wyoming, MI. Norma was raised in Wyoming, MI and graduated with a BA degree from Western Michigan University, and later a MA degree from Central Michigan University. She married Edward J. Schneider on June 25, 1944 and moved to Midland, MI. Norma taught at Plymouth Elementary for 28 years and was an Administrative Assistant at Northeast Intermediate.
Norma loved all children and truly was a gifted school teacher. She loved to travel, to garden, to be in nature, and to research her genealogy. Norma's positive outlook on life and people never faltered. She was a sweet, gentle lady throughout her life.
Norma is survived by her 3 children, Douglas Schneider (Victoria) of Interlochen, MI, Thomas Schneider of Ann Arbor, MI, Elizabeth Bali (David) of San Diego, CA; her grandchildren Paul Schneider (Helen) of Palo Alto, CA, Nicole Vondrasek (Ian) of Naperville, IL, Lauren and Julian Betts of Ann Arbor, MI, Megan and Mia Bali; and great grandchildren Millie Vondrasek, and Elliot and Cordelia Schneider.
Funeral services will take place at 3:30 pm, Friday August 4, 2017 at the Midland Memorial Presbyterian Church, with burial in Midland Cemetery.
