Patricia 'Pat''s Story
Patricia "Pat" Ann Mead, 84, of Benzonia, died Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Munson Medical Center in, Traverse City, with her family by her side. She was born March 27, 1932, in Detroit, the daughter of Walter and Ruth (Warren) Phillips.
Pat served as Benzonia Township Clerk for 30 years and sat on a statewide board for liability insurance serving townships for 24 years. Earlier in her career, she worked for Fred Herman Insurance.
Pat was Past Worthy Matron of the Benzie Area Order of the Eastern Star #403. In her spare time, she loved to knit and cook. She also loved to travel the world and had visited Europe and Bermuda and had been on many cruises. The most important thing in Pat's life was her family and she will be remembered fondly by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pat is survived by: her children, Peter (Cammie) Craig Moss, of Boyne City, Blair Erin Moss, of Benzonia and Todd (Marcia Bourdo) Robinson Moss, of Clarkston; her grandchildren, Danielle (John) Plumstead, Tyler Moss, Caleb Moss, Allison (Eric) Dubreuil and Eric Moss; her great-grandchildren, Carson, Griffin, Wyatt Plumstead, Anna Dubreuil and a great-grandchild on the way.
On Dec. 27, 1973, Pat married Ronald Wallace Mead. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2002. Pat was also preceded in death by her parents and by her siblings, Edward Phillips and Louise "Betty" Saunders.
Cremation has taken place at the Benzie Area Crematory and private family services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Benzie County Central Schools Educational Foundation.
The Bennett-Barz Funeral Home, in Beulah, is in charge of arrangements.
