Robert "Bob"'s Story
Bob passed peacefully at age 86 with his loving family by his side Sept. 10, 2017. He was born Aug. 21, 1931 in Hamilton, Ontario.
Bob had a passion for rowing and competed as a sculler for Team Canada in the 1952 Olympic Games. He devoted his career to sales in the automotive industry with C/R Industries. A lover of all things outdoors, he could be found by the water, golf course or on the ski slopes. He was always smiling and a constant light to all those around him.
Bob is survived by loving wife, Louise, Oct. 5 would have marked their 60th anniversary; daughter, Lisa (Fred) Erdmann; granddaughter, Lindsay (Trevor) Smith; grandson, Ryan Erdmann; dear family friends, Chris and Diane Kjolhede and their children, Christina, Matthew and Julianne; along with extended family members residing in Canada.
He was preceded in death by sons, David and Shawn; and parents, Jack and Helen.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 19, from 2 to 8 p.m., with memories shared at 7 p.m., at Phillip's Funeral Home, South Lyon. Memorial services will be Saturday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m., with visitation from 10 a.m., at Covell Funeral Home, Elk Rapids.
