Robert Austin Brown, 73, of Traverse City, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 at home after a long battle with cancer. Bob (Brody) was born on April 9, 1943 to the late Archie Claude Brown and Jesse (Tossey) Cooper in Jackson.
After serving in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1963, Bob returned to Traverse City. He was known for his fine carpentry skills. He enjoyed riding his Harley, sitting on his porch with friends and family and reading. He was a very simply person and led his life in just that way.
Bob is survived by his siblings, Donald (Fran) Brown, of South Boardman, Sandra Peterson, of Paw Paw, Archie Brown, of Jackson, and Cathy Burke, of Mansfield, Ohio. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie Brown Sr.; mother, Jesse Cooper; stepfather, Clarence Cooper; and brother, Jack.
At Bob's request, no services will be held at this time.
